PROVIDING SERVICES FOR OVER 30 YEARS
Living with a disability isn't only a physical experience. Who helps with the emotional side?

Meet Dr. Marianne Middlebrook, a New Jersey Licensed Psychologist at Summit Psychological Services who specializes in working with individuals and families navigating disability and chronic health conditions. Marianne brings something especially meaningful to this work: lived experience. Born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), she understands disability from both a personal and professional perspective.
This September, SPS is proud to support our colleague and the SMA community by sponsoring Cure SMA's Walk-n-Roll, September 19 at Roosevelt Park in Edison.
The emotional side of disability deserves care, too.
And that specialized care is available right here in our community.

WHAT IS APIT?
APIT is the acronym for "Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology"
(APIT) or Temporary Authorization to Practice (TAP) under a therapist's license and certifications issued by the PSYPACT Commission.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR YOU?

Life doesn't always stay within state borders, and now, your care at SPS doesn't have to either. Summit Psychological Services participates in PSYPACT®, an interstate agreement that allows our licensed psychologists to provide telehealth sessions to clients in other participating states. So if you're heading off to college, relocating for work, or simply splitting time between homes, you may be able to continue working with your SPS psychologist by telehealth, without having to start over with someone new. PSYPACT currently connects more than 40 states, helping us stay by your side wherever life takes you.

Availability depends on your provider and destination state, please speak with us for details.
