  • Conceptualizes clinical issues through a Developmental Psychopathology perspective, considering abnormal symptoms in the context of normal development.

I was born and raised in a blue collar town in central NJ, and earned a B.A. in Multicultural Studies at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. Following graduation I worked as a carpenter, real estate developer, interpretive ranger at Mesa Verde National Park, and as a counselor at a school for juvenile delinquent boys. It was there that I decided to pursue graduate training in Clinical Psychology. I then worked on an inpatient psychiatric unit for children and adolescents while earning a M.Ed. in Counseling at Rutgers University. Following completion of the Masters Degree, I earned a dual Ph.D. in Developmental and Clinical Psychology at the University of Maine, and was then matched with a predoctoral internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ (now Robert Wood Johnson Behavioral Health). My primary rotations involved partial hospitalization programs with children ages three to twelve years. I have completed two postdoctoral programs, the first in adult clinical psychology and geriatrics, and the second in neuropsychological assessment and brain-related disorders. Through my diverse life and professional experiences, I have consistently demonstrated the ability to work effectively with people of all developmental levels and cultural backgrounds.
